Hi Pierre, I am pleased to see that you have updated the program. I continue to use it with satisfaction. There will be new updates? Maybe on automatic cell scanning …. that would be great.
Always thanking you for your commitment, cordially, Giorgio

Always sorry for my bad English ….

Great project! I’m incredibly time poor at the moment, but will make a start on creating this pageset next week in English/ARASAAC by way of a contribution. It’s very well designed and the rationale behind it (preventing proprietary AAC device lock-in) important…

See: http://joereddington.com/projects/communikate/

Would be much quicker if the work could be split between a few people, if anyone else is interested drop me a line and we’ll carve up the task – would make a great default pageset for grid users.

We are currently working on a Quiz (Multiple choice questionnaire) feature that will be available in Gazespeaker in a few weeks from now. This could partially answer your question. We will investigate if there could be some additional features that would more completely answer your request.

First, I’m very new to Gazespeaker. A million thank-yous to all involved in providing this program!

My question. I’m trying to setup a vocabulary evaluation session. In a scripted instructor-student learning session, I’d like to intersperse non-interactive grids with eye-tracked grids. In a non-interactive grid, I’d like have eye tracking turned off. In this grid the instructor could take as much time as necessary to verbally set up the next grid. For example, pose a question, “find the dog in the next picture”.

When ready, I’d like to be able to have the instructor click the mouse (or hit a key) to go to the next grid. In that grid, I’d like the student to try to select the right choice with eye-tracking and do text-to-speech with an action. In that action I’d like the script to take the student and instructor to another non-eye tracked grid for the next set of words.

I am not seeing how to do this. I know I can select eye-tracked or not with the global settings but I don’t see how to intersperse eye-tracked and non-eye tracked grids to do what I want.

Thanks again!

Hi David,

Regarding your first question, it is not possible to launch notepad with Gazespeaker with the current version. We will try to provide this type of feature (launch an external program) in a future version.

For the second question, it is possible to pronounce the text when clicking or activating the text box in the keyboard grid (be sure that the setting “Pronounce all text” in the settings Screen is selected).

If it is useful, we could also include a feature to pronounce the sentence everytime a punctuation is entered (. ; : ? !)

Hi. How do we configure Gazespeaker so that the user can use Gazespeakers’s keyboard tile to compose text which then lands in an open Microsoft Notepad window?

Also how do we configure Gazespeaker so that the user can use Gazespeakers’s keyboard tile to first compose a sentence, and then have the entire sentence announced (when they are ready to have it announced)?

I answer myself. In \Documents\Gazespeaker\media\videos the video played by default is the “Eye Tribe 240p.mp4” If you want a different video you can replace that video with the video that you want. This is a bad solution, but it works for me.
