Dear Ambroglio,

You don’t need to use double calibration: this is only in special use cases (for example for children who cannot easily calibrate with the standard procedure of The Eye Tribe).

I didn’t test the EyeTribe on a tablet recently. I will try again to check this. Please note that you can adjust the settings of the cursor (smoothing to increase/reduce smoothing)

Did somebody used Gazespeaker successfully with TheEyeTribe on a tablet? (I use Surface)
For me is at the moment unusable (the cursor is moving too much), so I am using Click2Speak keyboard and it works.

The double calibration doesn’t work (Iget an error message saying that the eye tracker is not active or calibrated.

On the other side, Gazespeaker has many functionality that could be very useful.

Any help is really appreciated

Thanks

I don’t want to tread on any toes, but I’ve written a similar piece of software to GazeSpeaker that might be of interest to this community. It’s called OptiKey, it’s free and open source, and it provides full computer control and speech using a low cost eye tracker (or mouse). You can download it, read about it, check out the source code (it is written in C#) and watch the demo video at OptiKey dot org

Great work on GazeSpeaker by the way.

Hi Sush,
Yes ITU Gazetracker interface is implemented in Gazespeaker. However, as the price of The eye Tribe or Tobii Eye X are now similar to the cost to build a do-it-yourself eyetracker, we advise to use one of these.

Finally her condition improved enough to say yes/no. Her lateral eye movement suddenly showed a marked improvement two days ago. The calibration I did with the eye tracker UI came close to working but again would not work in the training module or work from the left yes cell to the right no cell -the curser would drop to the bottom of the screen moving to the right. I was able to get her to do a single point on the double calibration after several tries. It worked amazingly well!
